Preface
For several years,I taught English to students at the dental hygienist training school attached to Nihon University School of Dentistry.Graduates of the program told me they sometimes had non-Japanese patients and needed to use English in order to explain treatment. As Japan becomes more and more international, the need for dental hygienists who can speak English will increase.I believe that to be able to communicate in English you need good listening skills. In this book, there are over50listening exercises based on situations in dental clinics between patients and dental hygienists. There are also model conversations that will help you to develop your speaking skills. At the end of each unit, there is a list of target vocabulary which contains technical words you will need to remember and use.I hope this book will help to improve your listening skills, and also give you the confidence to communicate in English with non-Japanese patients.
